Why they won't mention the name who they want to talk too? Who knows they might have the wrong person or phone number. Duh! I had call from a debt collector asking for Rodney King??? Really!!! I'm not that person. WTF did get that phone number from? UHH!! Closed My eyes on a phone book and when ever my finger drops on a phone number That! the number I'm calling. People change there phone numbers cause they being harassed and phone company's giving out bad old phone numbers.
Called cell on 04-03-16 at 4:38 p.m. PDT, caller ID shows Boone County, KY, no name. Posts on this site identified the caller as Portfolio Recovery Associates. They started calling me about a month ago, at least twice daily, in the morning and evening.
If you receive many calls from Portfolio Recovery, check the internet for attorneys who specialize in suing debt collectors. A friend of mine in California did so, and received about $2,000 in statutory damages. It was a contingency case so he didn't have to pay anything up front. Keep copies of cell phone screen shots and keep a log of all calls and messages received. That's what I am doing.
It's my understanding that PRA tries to collect on nonexistent debts, which explains why they call me. My wife and I have zero debt other than a credit card which we pay off each month.
They sent me a letter saying I owed money for a doctor bill that insurance paid for so how they figure I owe money is something I wanna ask them but they don't call during normal times like totally random times like today at 12pm on a Sunday. I guess some Nazi owns this company to force people to work on Sunday and try and collect nothing called from just about every city in Kentucky
Sundays are normal business days now. Have been for years since people wanted stores open so they could go to the shopping centers and malls. The information you need to deal with these people was posted throughout this thread starting on page 1. You would do well to read and learn.
