These people must be the least effective debt collectors in the history of the business. Called me for years and not once have they gotten an answer. Went to court once and threatened many times and as of now they have recovered nothing. They have spent a bunch on court fees and process servers. Well at least some other people are making money off of them. I am curious as to when they will figure out that I have no touchable assets and they are just dumping their time and money in the toilet. I would say it could take them decades. LMAO!
Called cell on 04-13-16 at 10:38 p.m. PDT, caller ID shows Boone County, KY, no name. Posts on this site identified the caller as Portfolio Recovery Associates. This is the second call I've received from this number. Portfolio started calling me about a month ago, at least twice daily, in the morning and evening.
Portfolio is notorious for cold calling people and accusing them of owing money in an attempt to illegally collect on a nonexistent debt.
If you receive many calls from Portfolio Recovery, check the internet for attorneys who specialize in suing debt collectors. A friend of mine in California did so, and received about $2,000 in statutory damages. It was a contingency case so he didn't have to pay anything up front. Keep copies of cell phone screen shots and keep a log of all calls and messages received.
They call a few times a week! Sometimes a few times a day. They're super annoying! I just got this house number, too. Thanks everyone! I'm definitely not picking up. Whatever issues they had with the last owner of this number has nothing to do with me and according to what I see here, they're garbage and shouldn't be in business.
