Because we're worked like dogs, have no control over who we call, and get screamed at for trying to feed our families? It's not like I own the company. It's not like I want to call everyone over and over again. We're put on a hook and bounced from call to call automatically. You act as though we have some sort of vendetta against you.

I am scum because I need to earn money to not be homeless. Seriously. I got paid minimum wage for that 'fecal matter.' Clearly I'm just the worst. Guess me and my kids should just go and live on the street. Okay. Sounds good. Thanks for clearing up my entire existance.

They say that "CL&P is offering a free program" Bull. They have NO AFFILIATION w/ CL&P. Electric rates are deregulated and they are lying to get you make THEM your provider. Con tactics...There is a myriad of providers to choose from and CL&P lists them right on their company website w/ their rates. You can choose to switch or not without dealing with a telemarketer.

Hi everyone! My name is Billy and I actually work for Startel LLC, which is a company that is owned by Starion Energy. Now, I understand the complaints about the hang ups and multiple calls. That is a part of our system to get to the consumer. I do apologize for that, but our program isn’t a scam! We have a website… it’s www.starionenergy.com .  Before you listen to bogus claims by others on here, check us out. We offer a reduction of your energy bill by up to 20%. We service New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut and Illinois. What we do is change your energy supplier, because that’s what we are. An energy supplier. Did you know that you can choose your own electric supplier? Now most companies offer you gift cards or even refunds on your bill if you sign a contract, yet we at Starion Energy offer no bogus deals such as that. The only deal we have is that this is a free program to get into and free to get out of, plus it lowers the variable rate off the generation supply of your electric utility bill. Now, since we get customers telephone numbers from the electric company we bypass the DNC list in all states, but if asked our agents are supposed to place you on our DNC. It’s the law. Now the accusations that we are a part of a utilities program are true,  we are a part of all utilities Energy Choice Programs. But we are not a part of the companies as a whole. If anyone was told this, I apologize. Now, your utility doesn’t want you to change. At all! They sale the same electricity that we do, but while we sell it back to the consumer at wholesale they sell it back at retail. I mean, we even buy off the same grid!!! (That’s the New England ISO out of Hollyoak, Massachusetts.) And it is true, our agents do need your account number, but that’s so we can apply the savings to the correct account. Without your account number, we can’t connect the accounts so that you can start saving up to 20% a month on your bill. I implore any of you to grab your electric bill and browse our website. Find your rate and see what our rate is. I guarantee that we will save you money, each and every month. Because we don’t want your business for a year, or two years, but for life. As long as you have your electric utility we want you to use us as your energy supplier. We were the number one rated energy supplier in the state of Connecticut last year and we some of the lowest rates in every state we service. So, check us out. And I’m sure you’ll be impressed. And when you call to sign up, tell them Billy sent you!

No Patience
We just got one. I had to drag it out of her who she was, what she wanted, who she was calling for. She claimed to be working for some discount program via PEPCO (I have emailed them and the Do Not Call Registry to report it) but said she had nothing to mail me when I asked. I refused to dig out my bill for her. I asked if they had a web site and she said yes, but then hung up pretty quickly. I can't find any legit site for them. Reading these comments reinforces to me that they are a scam. Something that made me go "huh" was that she knew my name, husband's name and our address, but listed our city differently than we have it on the PEPCO bill. Data mining much? Well that and I doubt PEPCO wants me to pay less. The number they used today was 301.262.7741.
