its a scam people.. they tell you they will lower your rates yet they just need all the billing info. told them to shove the phone up their [***] then dial it from inside, and ONLY then i will give my info to that scimbag. i think she tried it to be honest
The representative that called me argued with me when I demanded to be put on your Do Not Call list. She claimed that the law does not apply because she was not "selling" anything, just notifying me of a program available to all New Jersey residents that would lower our energy bills. I told her that I know what she is trying to get me to agree to and that such calls ARE covered by the DNC law. I again demanded that I be put on the DNC list and notified her that since my number is already registered on both the federal and state DNC lists, she was in violation of both federal and state law. Her response? She said she would call back at another time because she was just trying to inform me of a "new program to help lower my electric bills that was being offered to all New Jersey residents due to deregulation." She obviously has no clue as to the true intent of the DNC law or the real business on whose behalf she was calling.
What you fail to appreciate is that people know exactly what you are selling when your company makes these calls and if they say they are not interested, your telemarketers should take "No" for answer instead of arguing with them.

This isn't true. They can't switch anything WITHOUT taking you thru a verbal verification which you have to answer yourself. Starion Energy also has Walking Agents who come to your house with the information so you can see it isn't a scam. They can't switch your provider WITHOUT your consent.
Complete BS. They are notorious for this. Why else would they be demanding Pepco account numbers from people who have told them no? And why would any legitimate company routinely violate the federal Do Not Call registry law? These people deserve to be in a prison getting butt-raped.
