This number and another (same except for 7 at the end instead of 1) called at 8:57 and 8:58 this a.m. A message was left demanding a return call from my first wife (we divorced in 1990), so no doubt a collection agency. I use AT&T so I gather this is a number that comes in from a variety of callers who block their Caller ID, however I was not given an opportunity to accept/reject the call.
You have the right answer. I was expecting a call back from a Verizon Customer service person --he said he would call at abt 10:06. I missed the call, and when I checked my caller ID, I saw Privacy Manager 860-724-0641. The time was 10:11. I'm sure it was the Verizon guy calling and I guess was blocking his caller ID. So it makes sense that all these other folks are getting calls from a lot of different people. They're all using ATT privacy manager.
Hi - I have been having the same problem for the past week or two & found out that it was intercepting long distance calls from my daughter & she could not get through. I called AT&T & they said it is a function of the all distance package & they turned it off. Would not listen to me when I told them I NEVER had this til recently...anyhow they turned it off & I will check to see tonight if it really stops. It looks to me like AT&T did something that turned this on for everyone with the all distance package & don't want to admit it was their fault. Check back tomorrow & I will post if it now stopped or not.
