Checking back in - scroll forward to see my first post - I called AT&T & they said it was because a switch was turned on for those with the "All Distance" package - she went in & turned off the switch & I had my daughter call me from out of state (see prior post) & call came through O.K. - No more Privacy Manager message! Yoo Hoo!
It is a filter service that is included if you have ATT as your service. What they do is intercept spam like numbers and let you know who is calling before you answer in case you don't want to talk. I am director of the Ridgefield (CT) Library, and we have been getting many phone calls from people saying they have received calls from this number claiming to be from the "Ridgefield Public Library". We have not made these calls, and we don't even use the word "public" in our name.
