I answered a call from this number and it was a man who said he was calling from Washington DC for the US government and I could barely understand him. He said I was being issued a grant for $7000 from the US government all I needed to do was give him my bank account information I told him we had a bad connection and to give me a phone number to call him back he gave me another phone number with a 202 area code and then gave me a claim number to claim my money I am reporting to New York State Atty. My mom got a call from this #, they tried telling her our computers weren't connected to the internet correctly and wanted her to let them remote in to it. Set the type to unknown because there can't be good coming from this situation.
864-540-0400 called me several times today. The first time I answered there was no one there. I called back the number and it said it was a government agency for the Do Not Call Registry. I listened to the prompts but did not put in any of my info and hung up. They called back 30 minutes later, said hello, they asked for me and said they were calling about my computer. I told them I don't think so and do not call me again and they quickly hung up.
In search for this # on line I found nothing except for posts like this.
I would say it was some kind of SCAMMER and I hope they get caught!
