I answered a call from this number and it was a man who said he was calling from Washington DC for the US government and I could barely understand him. He said I was being issued a grant for $7000 from the US government all I needed to do was give him my bank account information I told him we had a bad connection and to give me a phone number to call him back he gave me another phone number with a 202 area code and then gave me a claim number to claim my money I am reporting to New York State Atty. Gen.
Caller ID said International LD. The person calling had a very heavy accent probably Indian. He said he was calling about my computer. That is when I hung up.
I've had a call from this number at least a half dozen times. It is usually a person with an Indian accent telling me he is calling from Microsoft and sayimg there is a problem with my computer. I told him the last time they called (which wsas about 5 minutes ago) that if they called again I was reporting them to the FCC ??? -- Don't know if that's where to report, but it sounded good at the time. We'll see if they call again ...
Received a call just now from this number - strong accented man claimed to be with Microsoft and said there were multiple problems with my computer. I told him I had several computers, and how could he tell that from where he is. He spouted some gibberish and I told him my IT guy lives next door and I would ask him. I asked for a phone number to call back. The # he gave me is 845-262-3802, for everyone's reference. Ridiculous!
Same as others-scammer! Told me not a sales call but problem with my computer. Told him I'm on DoNotCall list and to take me off his roster. He said 'I can't do that!' and that my computer has serious problem. And if I'm on DoNotCall how did he get my number? I said because you're a hacker and don't call me again! Heavy Indian accent so couldn't catch his name nor name of company.
