I answered a call from this number and it was a man who said he was calling from Washington DC for the US government and I could barely understand him. He said I was being issued a grant for $7000 from the US government all I needed to do was give him my bank account information I told him we had a bad connection and to give me a phone number to call him back he gave me another phone number with a 202 area code and then gave me a claim number to claim my money I am reporting to New York State Atty. This number calls me repeatedly identifying themselves as "my computer service dept". I have asked them nicely to please stop calling yet they persist. After the 10th or 11th call ( 3-4 times daily) I yelled at them and hung up. Now they have me on "auto call" where they are calling me every hour and not saying anything. This is a very abusive and probably illegal operation and needs to be stopped.
I also got a call from this phone number it came up as from Anderson, SC. It was a middle eastern Indian with a heavy accent. He told me my computer was infected, I informed him that I build my own PCs and run all virus and diagnostic checks. I then told him I was going to turn him in for the scam he is running and if he called my house again I will be filing phone harassment charges on him. There was only silence after that. This guy needs to be caught, put on trial, and then put away for a long time. Hopefully in his own country were the punishment would be more severe.
