I answered a call from this number and it was a man who said he was calling from Washington DC for the US government and I could barely understand him. He said I was being issued a grant for $7000 from the US government all I needed to do was give him my bank account information I told him we had a bad connection and to give me a phone number to call him back he gave me another phone number with a 202 area code and then gave me a claim number to claim my money I am reporting to New York State Atty. Gen.
Big time scam...they are calling to tell you that your computer is infected with a virus...they want your personal info and $$$...block this number if you can.
This number called both my cellphone which is on a Do Not Call List and then my work number. They indicated they were investigating me for bank fraud and wanted me to call back before they send a police to arrest me. Same thing very heavy Indian Accent. I tried calling back and got the same thing that the number is a Do Not Call Listing. The thing that scares me is they had the last 4 digits of my social security when they left a message and my name where are they getting this stuff. I have blocked them from cellphone but how without paying to find out who it is can I make a complaint too since it is illegal to make these type of calls to a Work Number.
