DO NOT CALL THEM BACK: It's a scam operation calling from the #s below. Each week there's a new number too. block these numbers from your landlines and cellphone and keep adding the new #s to your block list. http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/stand-fake-debt-collectors.
Any calls from these numbers are FAKE PAYDAY LOAN COLLECTION CALLS, who threaten jail time if you don't pay them a certain amount to prevent you from facing "charges". FAKE FAKE SCAM SCAM. DO NOT verify anything. The FTC is aware and asks that you file a complaint online: http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/stand-fake-debt-collectors.
They call from different numbers so please be sure to report the # each time you receive a call.
I've asked the lady to mail me Legal Litigations papers. I told her that the US Postal Inspection Service told me that all legal papers need to go through the US Mail. They told me not to give any money until you are inform my US mail or my a court server. She told me she can not because it's in the process of court litigation, which is a bunch of bull. Just mention that you talked with the US Postal Inspection Service and she'll back down, ask for her full name and position.
Same call, same name. Anybody know who this is? Like you, never been to Colorado, never did business in Colorado, do not know anybody in Colorado. Bills are all paid. What gives?
Ross, Thank you for this advise. They claim the same 3 felony deal with me and when I mention the US postal inspection service the woman who said her name was Tania Smith, claimed that she was an investigator, and told me she doesn't care what the US Postal Inspection Service said she's "forwarding these charges". Then she hung up on me.
Yes, I keep getting this same call and I live in California. The tone is threatening and mentions to have "your attorney" call them back. This is one of many scams out there.
Yes I also received the same call about pretrial and being named in a case. This is a scam. I just ignore these messages as no one would call you about a lawsuit. If you have ever had a payday loan that is where these scammers are getting your info. I guess some people fall for this because these scammers never go away
