We don't even have credit cards. When it asked to push 1 to be transferred to a representative, I did so and simply said, "How do I get removed from your call list?"...they hung up. I called back and got a recording that said, "Thank you for calling back. To be removed from this list press 1 (again) which I did. I do not expect to stop receiving these calls. If anyone knows what I need to do to get them to stop, I'm all over it.
The scam maggots will keep calling forever. Verizon will never help the consumer without some very hard pushing. from the public and Congress.
What to do? Buy a call blocking telephone system, Panasonic makes a great system and I think Conair does as well. You can block up to 30 calls on the Panasonic,
Change your land line providers to your cable service. We dropped Verizon and went to Comcast, we call forward selected calls, up to 12, to a disconnected number.
We call blocked selected numbers on Comcast, with a Comcast message that says" we are not accepting calls at this time". again I think up to 12.,
The call forwarded numbers and the not accepting calls will not ring in your home but the others will ring once, then ring busy and hang up.
That totals 54 numbers that cannot get through. If you exceed that number you can unblock oldest numbers and add new, or go buy a call blocking device that will block anywhere from 30 to over 100.
This has become a game and a little entertainment for us.

It is hard to be a telemarketer when there are tons of laws like NAAFTA and the National No Call list that eliminates tons of call centers. Tons of businesses here in Portland since the 2008 downturn have gone out of business and these are entry level jobs. I worked for a research company that was here since 1985 and outsourced and we got nothing. I have gone to school since the 2009 layoff and taken every class at the Employment office here and all I heard was there are no jobs here from them and I have a 4 year degree in Accouting. I cannot work that job because of two bad car wrecks but people on here say those were not my falt when they were not.The media says the rate here is only 8% when the real rate is at least 50% and I know many unemployed people here. If you look at every major highway here up and down you will see tons of businesses that have gone out of business. I cannot afford to relocate at all. 40% of the co workers from MSI that were laid off when they closed in the summer of 2009 had to move in with people and lost their apartments and have became homeless per the Facebook. Most people cant move away and our evil government keeps passing laws that eliminate thousands and thousands of entry level and good entry level jobs and telemarketing are those jobs. This is all many people with degrees as well as people that need to work and want to work and do not want to be on welfare. But yet the American public think it is better to depend on strangers and the government to get by and think that is better and say horrible things on here because they really want us to not work. I guess you must like paying for government programs when these no call laws and voting for a law like NAAFTA that all it does is get rid of good jobs. And yet that is supposed to be a good thing. How many peoples lives and how many more businesses in the Portland Oregon area do you want to go under because of more job losses? How many more government programs and your tax dollars do you want us to sign up for? It is not if that I have my hand out and am trying to get SS disability like alot of people that can get it that are able to drive cars and do so many things but yet I cant even walk and can't get SS disability. How much more bad does it need to get in this town?
