Like other callers, I got a call from this number at night, claiming that my computer was at risk and about to crash. I refuted and said, nope my computer is fine and do not call again, to which the guy claimed it was 'his civic duty' to help me. LOL! The number is getting reported now. That's terrible.
Let the call ring, since I didn't recognize the number. They hung up after the fourth ring and left no message. This is the first time I've gotten a call from this number. CID stated the number and 'Prudenville, MI.' Apparently there's a large Indian population in that area from the posts here (yes, I'm joking).
Call blocker doesn't work because they will just call under a different spoofed number. They get these numbers from websites. I've actually had them call me using my own number! I simply don't answer. They are annoying. I have MagicJack so sometimes I just unplug my phones and let the MagicJack system answer it. It's set up to email me messages and if one of these scammers happens to leave one I delete. I check out all numbers here.
The guy is very vulgar when you let him know you know it is a scam. He threatened to come to my house and kill me and do some other things to me as well when I called him an idiot and asked to be taken off the caller list.
As a computer specialist for my career, I enjoyed playing along with this caller. However, got another call today. I am on the No call List, but I don't think its working well.
