I stupidly answered a 800 call and it was a debt collector that had an Indian accent. He insisted he could get my debt way down. Then when I said I would get back,to him on it, he became mean and said I had to give him 100.00 for the so called deal! It was a learning experience, and I will not do it again. What is really sad, is how many poor, elderly, lonley, isolated people they do scare into writing post dated checks ECT. Its sick!
This is portolio recovery who are calling on debts that are beyond the statute of limitations on collection. They just don't ever give up. These are too old to be on a credit report and even if you pay any alleged debt, it will not show on your credit report...so don't even bother with them. I received 3 calls from various numbers within about 5 mins of each other 512-361-7220 and 509-703-4015....the later left a threatening message about serving me. All total bull!
