I stupidly answered a 800 call and it was a debt collector that had an Indian accent. He insisted he could get my debt way down. Then when I said I would get back,to him on it, he became mean and said I had to give him 100.00 for the so called deal! It was a learning experience, and I will not do it again. What is really sad, is how many poor, elderly, lonley, isolated people they do scare into writing post dated checks ECT. Its sick!
This was valuable info. ? Peter - do you work for Porfolio Recovery - a company that has purchased debt from different entities. Nasty bast***ds that call from more than 100 different numbers. Find out the statute of limitations on debt for your state. After that it is totally illegal for them to harrass you. Their methods are illegal in most states even before statute of limitations. They have lost innumerable law suits. You actually do not owe them the money anyway. They purchased the debt that was written off by whomever you owed it to.
This number called me about a bill from 1979. How many years old is this. I told them FU I was not old enough to make the bill and am not paying it 38 years old and you are calling me about a bill. Bill for Kay Jewelers REALLY 38 YEARS AGO!!!!

I have so many area codes and phone number's blocked for PRA it's sickening. They must call me about 10 times a day each time from a different number. I feel like forwarding the next call they make to me to the previous number they used to call me from and let their reps talk to each other... as funny as that would be I won't do it because they will probably then start calling me 20 times a day. This has got to be the worst debt collection company out there they have lost 2 class action lawsuits you would think that they would have learned their lesson but NO they keep right on violating the FDCPA.
