just got a call from a guy "Frank", asking to talk to Ms____ (my name), saying that my Windows 7 operating system has been hacked and he needed to "fix" it...Very noisy in the background....Smelling a rat I told him nobody by that name lived here...Wanted to know my name and if my computer was "on" Told him NO.....Told him I had a bad connection and I would call him.
Gave me a phone# 40-1-866-999-1487 from Salt Lake City....Called back and can't connect with this number...My caller ID shown 1-206-397-1126
Same as above... "You must get to your computer and turn it on so I........" Absolutely not. I called Microsoft and reported the number. Beyond that, I couldn't understand the woman so I hung up before she could!!
Received calls from 209-397-1113 and 360-633-9006. First guy was "John." Second, a few minutes ago, was from "Robin." Both with thick East Indian accents. They calimed to be from a Microsoft IP user department, and tried to tell me there were "infections" on my computer I didn't know about. I told him I'd spoken to some IT experts I know, and they all agreed no one would call from Microsoft. The first got rude and hung up on me, the second argued with me when I told him I didn't believe him. Caller ID for both numbers showed Trikon.
Man called with indian accent wanting to download something and saying my computer is slow. basically same scenarios as above, after yelling "do you have someone i can speak to in english?!!" he became irate and so i hung up.
I bought a prepaid T-mobile phone this year, and for the last five months some telemarketers sounded like from oversea kept calling me trying to sell me something. I kept telling them for the last five months they got the wrong number, but they woudn't stop calling and harrassing me. I tired to get the company that hired them so I can at least have them remove my name, but they would just hung up on me. Today, they called again and I tried to get their company telephone number. The guy from oversea just hung up on me and then he called back again just to make to say something. He then hung up again. I felt like I was being harrassed. I went back to my cellphone log, and I found out the same people were using different area code numbers including (202) 503-9955 beside (206) 397-1113. You won't get through if you dial (206) 397-1113, but you can try calling (202) 503-9955. I did today, and a guy over the phone apologize by saying he will tell the others not to call, but that is what they have said last month and the month before. I still getting their calls as of today.
