I also got a call like that and I though it might be true, but them they started to ask all this question in relation to who I was, if I had a credit card, and if I had money to sell the grant. I told them I was not interested and the the thing was that they were saying that I couldn't tell anyone until the "application" was complete.
I received a call from this number as well. The foreign speakingperson on the other end claimed to be IRS as well, and said I owed over 4000.00 in back taxes from 2012, and he also new my previous address. Pretty scary stuff. I hung up an said I'll have to speak to my attorney and get back with him, [***]!!!
They called me telling me I was accepted for a grant! Did not speak good English and kept transferring me to others when I asked why they were calling! Big scam and report to fraud
Called saying I had won a grant of $14,566 for being a good citizen and doing taxes on time but then told me I had to pay $325 if I had really won that grant then I wouldn't be having to pay those $325 they are a scam they said it was called an individual grant looked it up does not show up anywhere it is fake !!
I received about 50 phone calls in 2 days from an unknown number. When I finally answered, I was told that I qualified for a government grant for over $14,000. I knew it was a scam, but I was at work so I had time to entertain myself. The Indian fellow eventually gave me this 206-538-5498 number to call with an ID# for identity verification. I told the clowns yesterday to take me off of their list at least 5 times, but I am still getting calls
I got a call from an Unknown number telling me to call this number after he finished verifying information with me. He said that I was a recipient of a Health and Human Services Grant Fund valued at over $14000. He wanted to verify my birthdate, last four of my social and driver's license number and then he would transfer me to the supervisor. He was an indian man with a fairly heavy accent, and was quite pushy and rude to try to get to the information that he wanted.
