RS does not file lawsuits. Tax disputes are civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and all contacts are initiated by US mail.
I got a call today while away the message said if you do not call back this number we are going to start a law suite by the end of the day. I do not owe back taxes but almost had a panic attach. I tried to call the number but no answer. Scared me so bad I am to old for this type of stress
Caller ID gave the number as Choice One at 724-452-5687; voicemail message (automated voice) said they had been trying to reach me-it was my last chance before the IRS, Internal Revenue Services (yes, with an s at the end) and they were filing a lawsuit against me and I should call 206-973-3241 immediately to get information on the file.
Got the same scam call from (725) 442-5687, message left about the IRS was filing a lawsuit against us and to call (206) 973-3241 for further information. Of course we didn't call them, I tell you we get more phonie calls everyday. It's getting so we don't answer any calls but family and friends.
