Saturday breakfast with the kids. Bacon, waffles, strawberries...and, of course... Spam. Not the mystery meat in the can; the infuriating unwanted sales call! This one labeled TEST. sigh...
Card Services is a scam and they have many different numbers including the ability to use YOUR own phone number to call you and others. According to my phone company, this is known as Caller ID Spoofing. They have the ability to program their equipment with any phone number ( including yours ) and then call anyone including you. It happened to me. I saw call coming in with my phone number and was wondering how that could happen. I answered it to see and it was THEM again. They also program numbers 4 digits up or 4 digits down from the last 4 digits of your number so if you get what seems to be a local call from ......let's say your number is XXX-445-6733 and you get a call from XXX-445-6738 thinking that it is a local call.... don't bother answering it and do not call back any of these numbers because you risk having your call forwarded on to somewhere overseas. Contact your phone company and let them know what is happening to you and they can advise you as to what to do. I got my first call from TEST this morning ( 209) 782-8675. I have already blocked the number. All major phone carriers are aware of the problem with these calls but so far haven't been able to catch them.
What your phone company didn't tell you was that they have the ability to let you block numbers at no charge (they limit the number to make more money), and that they could shut down these calls (except it would affect their profits).
DNC regulations should make phone carriers ultimately responsible for these calls via very large fines.
Way to go. to bad we can't sue them all, they keep moving and changing # so fast by the time the paperwork for court shows up they'l be in another time zone..
