Well, when they called and did the review with me last year we found several hundred dollars' worth of discounts of which I was unaware...so I'm glad that they do this.
Called but left no message. We do have retirement accounts with USAA but have never had auto policies. I did not receive paperwork as other poster did, stating they would be calling. Sorry, but I am still skeptical and will only send needed information via forms and U.S. Postal unless I solicited the phone call.
I received a phone call this morning on my very private cell phone. They left a voicemail message on my cellphone, saying that they want to update the information on our auto insurance. (They want to confirm who the drivers are for each vehicle, estimated miles driven per year, etc.)
The phone call came from PSI (Professional Surveys, Inc.) which operates under contract to USAA. USAA has been our family's insurance agency for decades. I called USAA and they confirmed that the phone number belongs to PSI. See this information on USAA's website:

Nonetheless, I was very angry that PSI called my cellphone FIRST, before trying my landline, which is the primary contact for USAA. I had given USAA my cellphone number for emergencies only, basically in case of auto accident or credit card fraud. In the light of the call from PSI, I had USAA remove my cellphone number from its database.
AN OFF TOPIC, PERSONAL RANT THAT YOU SHOULD IGNORE:
I may be old fashioned, but I hate it when people call my cellphone first, even when I have expressly told them to call my landline and leave a message there unless it is an emergency. Instead, they call the cellphone first, no matter how petty the reason, because they want to reach me NOW. They do not have the decency or courtesy to concern themselves with how it may affect you, by interrupting an important meeting or your concentrated work, or whatever. I have to keep my line open for true family emergencies, and uncaring, rude people take advantage of that.
