I got the letter from USAA in July. PSI may have just tried to contact me on MY cell phone but I did not answer since I did not recognize the number. I will call PSI using the toll free number in the USAA letter at my convenience using my land line. Maybe they will not call back.
See my post above, where I explained that the caller is PSI (Professional Surveys, Inc.), which is calling to collect automobile usage data for my car insurance agency, USAA. See also my gripe that people call my cellphone, which is reserved for emergencies only.
They called my cellphone first and I ignored it, and then they called the landline, so I answered. I asked them to remove my cellphone from their database, and they said that they would. I answered their questions about our family cars, drivers, etc.
P.S.
Crystal is wrong. I verified the caller's phone number with USAA, and they confirmed that PSI is their authorized agent to gather car insurance information as I described above.
PSI knew about my vehicle models and years as well as the drivers in our family, their birthdates, and their student status, along with our home address. I did not supply any of that information. All I did was confirm what they stated. The only thing I had to supply (other than confirming their information) was how many miles per year that I estimated for each vehicle.
