I received a call from this number and the same issue happened. Being a clever girl, I led the man on phone to believe that I was following his prompts and kept putting him on hold. I kept his game up for at least 30 minutes. Then I said "did you say Windows?" I don't have windows because I use Apple!!!! They hung up......bam!
I have received calls from them on several occasions and am pleased to say I have never once fallen for their BS. I only wish I had the power to stop all the calls I get on a regular basis from folks like this, folks wanting to sell me extended warranties on my automobile, and other such calls. They call over and over again. I don't answer, they keep calling. A few times when awakened from a nap I will speak words that even I can hardly believe. Still, the calls keep coming. The national DO NOT CALL list that I'm on apparently has no value or authority whatsoever. When I tell these solicitors that what they are doing is illegal, they begin arguing with me. The whole thing is disruptive and continually runs interference in my life (our lives). I pity them that they have to do this kind of work, but my pity wouldn't stop me from shoving the phone down their throat if I had the ability to do that, nor ramming it up their a** if I could do that too.
The DNCR stops legitimate telemarketers. It does not stop overseas scam operations from calling. Especially when you consider the fact their own governments make it impossible for our agencies to take any kind action against them.
