Just got a call today at 1:45pm, and a recording came on, stating it is the IRS with a claim against us, and if we do not respond immediately they will go ahead and charge us. It said we must call 210-888-0979
I was surprised, since we had just sent off an updated amendment to the IRS inquiry they had made, regarding an error.
I received a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS saying they were going to file a lawsuit against me and asked me to call this number. I immediately knew that it is a scam. There should be something that can be done to catch annoying people like this.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Very poor quality, garlbed message saying I'm being sued by the IRS but the connection was lost before they said anything else. They need better calling equipment if this scam is going to work for them.
