Just got a call today at 1:45pm, and a recording came on, stating it is the IRS with a claim against us, and if we do not respond immediately they will go ahead and charge us. It said we must call 210-888-0979
I was surprised, since we had just sent off an updated amendment to the IRS inquiry they had made, regarding an error.
Robocall stating to call on dept number 210-888-0979 which is the number that dialed the call. Xfinity/comcast needs to give us more than 25 call block options as these calls are coming in multiple times a day for most folks, from multiple numbers.
For what it's worth I'm currently in negotiations with the IRS now (for 5+ years, ugh) and got a call from this number. As others have noted the IRS certainly wouldn't ever just make a threatening phone call, ever. Don't let these scamming clowns scare you!
Received a phone call on my message machine from 210-888-0979 stating that the IRS was filing a law suit, and that I needed to call and get a case number. Tried to reach and no answer, immediately thought this was bogus, and came up with this site.
