Just got a call today at 1:45pm, and a recording came on, stating it is the IRS with a claim against us, and if we do not respond immediately they will go ahead and charge us. It said we must call 210-888-0979
I was surprised, since we had just sent off an updated amendment to the IRS inquiry they had made, regarding an error.

Just got a call from this number, they left partial message - did call back, was garbled, bad connection...said something about being from the IRS; call dropped - so I looked up the number and found this... If anyone receives a call, request formal information to be sent in mail - this is a scam
Received call from 210-888-0979. A message was left asking me to return the call to this number claiming to be the IRS. The message threatened jail! Needless to say, I did NOT return the call. I attempted to contact the IRS, but the email option was down and the phone message line was full.
