thanks for posting the DNC number. I just called and entered my number to not be called. I'm sure this will work. I had been asked if I would take a survey when I spoke to someone at BofA a couple months ago. Maritz has called many times, which I mostly ignore - or if I pick up the phone it's just not convenient to do the survey at that moment. I'm now tired of their evening calls so I'm glad to have come across the number to get me off the list.
Same thing a Bank of America survey.... Rule number one people! HANG UP and call the Bank and they confirm if they are the ones trying to get a hold of you for a survey or issue.. NEVER EVER SAY A SINGLE WORD ABOUT YOUR BANKING, why in God's name are people willing to discuss aspects of their finances with a strange voice on the phone when you won't with your family....
I received this call tonight. It was a young woman, sounding somewhere between 21 and 25. As she said Maritz, research. I thought why isn't she calling from BOFA. Next i couldn't understand the name, so I asked her to spell it. The caller said, M-a-r-i-t-zed. ZED? So i asked her what country she was calling from, and she said Canada. I then asked her why a Canadian marketing firm was calling for Bofa, to a Califonrnia customer or potential customers house. I said, i don't feel comfortable talking to someone in another country, that isn't technically BOFA. She laughed at me and said, oh, OKAY!, and hung up.
I got 4 calls from this number last night. I didn't answer, but from reading the posts, many people say it's affiliated with BofA. I don't think there are even any BofA locations in my state (MN) and I know I'm not a customer of theirs. Smells like pretext calling to me, people. Don't even talk to them.
I received a call from Meritz this afternoon. I only answered it after I found this thread, that, and I have been called at least every other day for the past two weeks. After introducing himself he asked if it was alright to begin a survey regarding a past service call from HP.
He sounded very young (twenties) and he was very polite. He told me (voluntarily, I didn’t even have to ask) the full name of the tech, the date she came out to service the machine, and even my information. I didn't supply him with anything.
It seemed harmless, he asked a few survey questions (how satisfied are you about…) and thanked me for my time.
