thanks for posting the DNC number. I just called and entered my number to not be called. I'm sure this will work. I had been asked if I would take a survey when I spoke to someone at BofA a couple months ago. Maritz has called many times, which I mostly ignore - or if I pick up the phone it's just not convenient to do the survey at that moment. I'm now tired of their evening calls so I'm glad to have come across the number to get me off the list.
Supposedly if you call 800-864-8601 you can be removed from Maritz Research's calling list. They claim to be in full compliance with state and federal laws, blah, blah, blah. When I answered the phone, I got computer noise, almost like a fax line, but the caller id shows Sharon Middleton. This must be a scam. Why use a phony name on your caller ID otherwise? I add these companies to a do not call list on my cell phone and since my land line rings to my cell, I always know not to answer.
Just got the same call from Sharon Middleton (12/17/08 7:07pm) of course I checked the # & it is out of Maryland. I did not pick it up. Found this site & called 18008648601 to get my # on their do not call list. My call to the 800# seemed to work.
