Some guy calling from "US Deputy Sheriff's Association". Said that they needed money for bulletproof vests and officers lost in the line of duty. I asked them if they could send some info in writing. Guy said that he needed a pledge from me before he could send me some materials by mail. I said that I'll pledge something as soon as I get something in writing. Guy said "ok, thank you" and hung up.
Sounds like a scam to me. Oh, yeah, Stranger, let me give you my credit card number so you can take all of my hard-earned money out of my account!
recieved calls from this co. too. they always hang up when I answer, but I have also seen their number on my caller I.D. They are always identified as Courtesy 101. I am also on do not call list and have tried blocking their number, but they still get through somehow. It is very annoying. One call came in at 10:58 p.m. on a Sunday evening and the latest just now.
someone i know got calls from this number and carried on conversations with the person on the other end, someone calling himself kirk brown. i need very much to know if anyone else talked to a kirk brown from this number?
We recieved a call at 4:41pm. The caller asked for my husband by name. I asked who was calling and he said "deputy sheriff". When my husband got on the phone the caller said that he was looking for donations for the police department to get bullet proof vests. My husband asked if the donations were for our county or Atlanta. The caller hung up. I called back and got a message saying the mailbox was full. When I looked up the number I found that it was a land line in Niles, MI, but we live in Georgia. I found this site, and called our local sheriff's department.
just recieved a call @ 3:45 central. i live in princeton, KY. i work 3rd shift, and am asleep during time of call. male, sounding to be between 19-31 asks for me by name, and starts giggling, with several other voices in backround. i respond 'speaking', and he declares himself to be from the local deputy sheriffe's office. i say ok, and then party hangs up.
