Some guy calling from "US Deputy Sheriff's Association". Said that they needed money for bulletproof vests and officers lost in the line of duty. I asked them if they could send some info in writing. Guy said that he needed a pledge from me before he could send me some materials by mail. I said that I'll pledge something as soon as I get something in writing. Guy said "ok, thank you" and hung up.
Sounds like a scam to me. Oh, yeah, Stranger, let me give you my credit card number so you can take all of my hard-earned money out of my account!
Some guy called May 21st at 7:30 asking for my support for bullet proof vests and fallen officers. I knew it was a scam from the beginning. If I want to support you, then I will come to you.
Courtesy 101 has called several times. This is the first time I was home and answered. All I heard was a man's voice talking to someone else. No response when I said "Hello" a couple of times. I hung up and tried calling the number back to ask, "Who are you and why do you keep calling my number?" I couldn't get through. Then I googled the telephone number and found this site. I am on the Do Not Call registry and have filed a complaint.
What sounds like a young female has called my home phone three times today. The first two times the person said nothing. The third time I answerd and then I SAID NOTHING. A young female voice spoke to someone nearby that some idiot had answered the phone and wouldn't say anything. I said, "You need to stop calling my number, [***]." That number hasn't called since that encounter.
Called and heard some idiot rambling in the background before they hung up. I get between 5-10 of these a week. Go here and file a complaint with the FTC.
They wont stop calling they are professional telemarketers. I used to work with this company in an upper management capacity. You need to contact you state sec. of state and be diligent about filing your complaints only then you may get through to them. I would like nothing more than to see companies like this put out of business by state governments, but till the public raises more hell nothing will happen. Nothing has since I began in that business (80's)
