I just got a call from 305-587-2091. They said that they were calling to lower my interest rate and that they were calling from cardmember services. I asked the guy if he was calling from my visa card services, how come he didnt know what my current interest rate was and he hung up. I called back and got the message that this number is an unattended mailbox and it could not recive any incoming calls>>>SCAMS..
"Lisa" Credit Card Services...high priced credit cards. I've gotten repeated calls from this company. I wait til the end of the message.... hit the number to get a service person..then tell them I am on the do not call list..then they hang up on me. This time the service person uttered a profanity then hung up. Can any one stop this company from calling??
Card Holder Services - lower your intrest rate - final notice speel crap again. Getting calls from them daily. at first you have the option to talk to a live person or have your number removed. Have done remove several times in the past 3 weeks, always hangs up on me. Just this last time (Feb 1) I hit one to talk to live person. Asked him point blank how many times do I have to hit the 3 to be removed from the calling list, he said here I will press three for you, hit 3 my [***], he hung up on me LOL. So I call the number back, options of remove from call list or talk to person live. LOL Hit talk to live person, result: Sorry the voice mail box you are trying to call is full and can not accept anymore messages. Called back and again and tried the remove from call list. As stated above it said: "Please leave the 10 digit number you would like removed from the call list after the beep." Hahhhhh NO BEEP! Cant wait till they call later today or tomarrow. Going to play mind games with them. LOL.
Buy the way this is NOT a sales call, they want to confirm your debt amount on your credit cards to see if you qualify. YES they want YOUR credit card numbers including the cv v code from the back.
"Lower Interest"
Recorded message about lower your mortgage interest rate. I get this call REPEATEDLY at my place of business. I have REPEATEDLY asked that the number be removed. I'm sure they get around this by having the calls be made by many, many different numbers. THIS TIME, the caller ID captured the number...they didn't hide it. This type of recorded message is NOW ILLEGAL. This time, I pressed "1" to speak with one of the scam artists and no one answered, so I left a message. OH DID I LEAVE A MESSAGE. Now that I have the number, I think I'll repeatedly call it over, and over, and over, and over again. When you call, you're only given the option of taking your number off their call list by entering it when prompted. I wonder if this is annoying to them in any way.
It only takes me 30 seconds to go to my VOIP provider web site, open my account, and add them to my blocked phone number list. These criminals are spoofing the phone number and can not be easily tracked and fined. The DNC List is a regulatory solution that only keeps real businesses that want to comply with the law from calling those on the DNC list. It is right next to voluntary. Still, all those other calling organizations that were give a free pass from DNC list regulations (like politicians) can call.
Do yourself a favor, move to a VOIP phone solution, and make sure that the VOIP provider offers you the ability to add any amount of phone numbers to your blocked caller list. MagicJack does not as of January 2012 offer the ability to block inbound phone numbers and they reference adding your number to the nearly useless DNC List.
I presently use 8X8 (was packet8), looking at moving VOIPo (to cut costs), and your cable provider may also offer a VOIP service (though TW Cable VOIP phone service is more expensive).
Have a Google Voice phone number, for a few months now, and I see no scam or telemarketing calls recorded. They are filtering known spam/scam calls, and I can block with a click any that may eventually get through marking them as a candidate for system wide blocking.
All the key words are above, check it out.
800 notes is a great site, glad they are here to help!
