I received this hang up 11:50 am cst , but we have another phone that does not have ID on it and have gotten SEVERAL calls where they ask your name, and then go on to say there is a problem with our computer or microsoft something or other.... usually a foreign accent. Yesterday my husband gave me the phone and said it was for ME.... didnt know WHY he didnt say WHO it was...it was because it was one of those idiots, AGAIN, as soon as he said the same old thing again, I said remove us from your calling list, and he said to me SHUT UP! I said shut up back and he did it back to me ! ! ! HOW IGNORANT AND RUDE! next time we will say please hold so I can have my wife/husband help you.... and then just leave the phone off the hook.... I BELIEVE this would keep them from making another call till we hung up on our end ? ? ? maybe I am wrong...all in all I / WE are sick of this stuff ! thanks for posting all the comments from folks like us. Jan. 8th @ 5:00pm I received 2nd call from same person (not sure of # 1st call). 1st time the male caller's accent so heavy I couldn't understand what he saying along with too much background noise as if he calling from a call center. He addressed me by my 1st name. I did catch something about Microsoft & my computer. Told him there was too much background noise for me to hear
what he was saying so if it was that important he needed to call me back using a better quality headset or when nobody else is in same room so not so much background noise & I hung up. 2nd call was definitely same man, same accent, but no background noise. He again addressed me by my 1st name & said he was with Microsoft & they received Windows error message from my
computer & something about him fixing it right then - was difficult to understand everything he saying due to his accent. I told him I didn't know what he was talking about & asked him how I was supposed to know that he was with who he said he was with? He hung up instead of answering me. I contacted people I know who would know about these things & they informed me this was a scam. Then I found these sites, so am reporting my experience. Figured it was a scam when he hung up rather than try to confirm he truly connected to Microsoft.
