I received a call from this number. It didnt even give a company name. I selected option 1. Person answered from Account Services. I was able to quiz him on how he got the phone number and whom they represent. They work with Visa and Mastercard for several companies. He did say Chase. I asked to be removed from future calls. Low and behold, no one was there. He had disconnected me.
Interesting...
Got a call from this number today, April 1, 2011... I have excellent credit, so it is very unlikely that it was a collector. I did not pick up, no message was left. I am located in Los Angeles, CA with a 310 area code. Hope this helps...
Called Thursday, March 31, 2011 on my office phone. Apparently was a recorded message, as my extensions never rang. Call was handled as if a robot caller, in any case.
Probably the same nuisance caller facility as 313-749-0347 which called my cell the next day.
"MCI Worldcom" has already passed off 313-749-7xxx and 313-749-8xxx in 2005, to Nextel, and 313-749-9xxx in 2008 to Level 3, so odds are that these calls are evidence of a new (not yet broadly documented) sell-off of 313-749-0xxx to telemarketers.
As for me, changing 313-749-0xxx from default-to-trust, to default-to-allow-one-voicemail-only, just in case there might be a LEGITIMATE HUMAN caller from a number in that range of a thousand numbers..
Just received a call from this number, I answered and a recorded message said something like "This is your second and final message to decrease your credit card debt. Press 1 to speak with a representative". I didn't press one right away and it hung up after a few seconds. Called the number back and it gave a message saying that the number was unavailable and to try again later. It's definitely a scam.
