I received a call from this number. It didnt even give a company name. I selected option 1. Person answered from Account Services. I was able to quiz him on how he got the phone number and whom they represent. They work with Visa and Mastercard for several companies. He did say Chase. I asked to be removed from future calls. Low and behold, no one was there. He had disconnected me.
Interesting...
Just got a call from 313-749-0342 saying it was my last chance to lower my credit card interest. I don't have a credit card but have had the same call prior but a different number, same speech. Soooo, I decided to play along and pressed (1) and got a lady wanting to know the amount I owed. I lied and said $62,000.00 and she imediately said hold and I will get someone. Another lady, and I use that term loosely, wanted me to give her a credit card number that was in good standing. I told her I don't give numbers over the phone, but thanked her for allowing me to record this call. She said she was "shaking in her boots" and "hiding under her desk" and wanted me to get of he F"ing" phone. Then she hung up. These are sleeze bags trying to conn people out of card numbers. They use numbers from all over the place. I have filed a formal complaint with the FTC and do not call, and also had it blocked by the carrier. They just change numbers and will be calling again. Guess a real job is out of the question for these folks....
The caller said he was from credit card services to lower my rate. I asked how he got my cell number.
no answer. I kept asking what credit card co & he kept saying we represent many I told him I can get my rates lowered by calling the company myself. Apparently he didn't like being questioned & hung up..
I would also like to file a complaint. They are clearly trying to get credit card numbers. I played along, pressed 1 and the woman said "are you calling about lowering your interest rates. I said that I was responding to a solicitation calling my phone directly but was unsure which card they were referring to. She hung up. How do I go about filing these complaints. This is potential theft. Not telemarketing.
