@ lee, I got a call like that stating they were calling medicare aged people and wanted to verify my information. I said I was old but not that dumb, bye
Saturday, 11 a.m.--I just received a similar call from 347-418-0487 "New York Call". He said they would said a card to go along with my Medicare card. I asked if he was with a Government agency. He said No. He just wanted to verify I was the right person to get the card. I knew he had some of my information--address, phone number, but when he asked for the name of my bank. I asked why he needed that? He said it was just to verify who I was. I hung up on him. He sounded like "Peggy" on those commercials. I didn't trust him from the beginning. Can't someone track this low-life down?
My elderly mother in law had this phone number; now it belongs to us. These people are calling 7-10 times a day. Since my voice doesn't sound as though I'm in my 80's they are hanging up. Its very annoying.
Received woman who could barely speak english, wanted my mom's bank account information so that she could send a new medicare card. When I told her that I don't give out that info, she said that I needed to comply with their requirements! I obviously hung up.
She says with heavy Indian accent, "May I please speak to (my name).
I say "Speaking"
She says- "I am calling to advise you that in a few days you will be receiving a new medical card, but I need to verify a few things. Is your address (repeats my address including the zip code).
I say- "Yes"
She says- "Is your phone number (repeats the # she just called)?
I say- "Yes"
She says- "Just a few more questions. In order to verify I have the right person, what is the name of the bank you deal with?"
I say- "I won't tell you that."
Phone line goes dead. LOL
All of the information she had me confirm is available in any phone book.
