I'm assuming they are switching their call back number. If you happened to get a call from them send the new number to me please. You can find me on twitter. @ScammerBot. Thanks
As the others have said, a recording saying the IRS has filed a law suit. My husband and I laughed about it, but I do hope that every one by now knows the IRS doesn't make calls and doesn't send emails.
I'm not sure because they are in fact impersonating an Officer which is a crime and fraud may also be able to be thrown in for good measure. I called a good friend of mine who is an Attorney and pro-tem Judge for the county on who all I can file complaints with and what laws they may be breaking, I haven't heard back from him yet. I will file charges and complaints with every agency I can in order to try and stop them or deter them. I don't want to see anyone get cheated out of their savings, and the elderly might be good marks for them because of the scare tactics they are using. I hope these agencies make their lives H***, like they do to their victims. When I find out all we can report to I will come back and list here and maybe if enough of us follow through with our complaints, we might just accomplish something.
I got the same call from this number 10 minutes ago from a guy claiming to be with the IRS, gave me a name, Frank Smith and a badge #12585 and a file#. After arguing with the man for 5 minutes I told him that all he was full of S#@t, and this is a scam, he hung up on me. Don't fall for this scam.!!!!!! And he hardly spoke English!??!!
