Be careful if you get calls from this number. Getting annoying calls since several days from this number, The number appearing on telephone screen is (213)141-5163 (Fake number: there is NO city suffix that will start with number 1 such as "1" in 141). The message says about IRS filing a lawsuit agains you. I am aware of such scam calls (IRS never calls and threatens anyone with a tax bill, even with legitimate tax due). So not worried on that count. Surprisingly, it is going since long, so many people have reported ahead of me. Law enforcement agencies not able to capture and handle these perpetrators!
Please do not answer or return calls to this number!! [***] tried to scam me saying they are the IRS and even provide an officer name and badge number and further say there's a warrant for your arrest leaving you to believe it's legitimate. I verified with our local PD that this is a hoax. BEWARE OF THESE CALLS AND DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!!
I went one better!!! I got a call from 347-418-0574 same scam about IRS lawsuit. I called the IRS and they finally me back about 2 weeks later I told them what happened they told me these scammers get the info off of possible people that owe the IRS. They then told me they will look into it and that the IRS does not contact people thru phone or internet and not to worry.
