I called my mother and her caller ID identified my number as this number (which it is not). I called Centurytel, our phone service provider, and they are looking into it. Ugh.
I got a call. Didn't recognize it so didn't answer it. No message left. I called back and it said it was no longer in service.
LOL it is funny what they'll do for a Buck :-)
This number just called. Said they needed to access my computer because there is malicious information being sent to it. They said they are partners with Microsoft. I don't have Microsoft. We have an Apple computer at our home. I asked how they got my information, they stated that when I purchased the computer, I provided all my information. This said computer is not registered under my name and is set up with my husbands employment. I could not understand the person on the phone due to the thick accent. They switched me to a Supervisor which was also not very easy to understand. They would not disclose the company that they were with. They just said that they were partners with Microsoft....and when I said I don't have Microsoft, they said, we work with Apple too. VERY SHADY.
This is a new twist to the all too familiar scam calls that bombard all of us. When my phone rang, I looked at the caller ID and was surprised to see that it was my home phone number and my name that was calling me. WTF? I didn't realize that I had such a talent that I could actually call myself on my own phone from my own number. Anyway, I answered the phone to find our old friend, "Rachel", from card holder services on the other end. Click! Good bye Rachel.
