I received a call from 407-000-1919 with a voice recording from "Rachel" with Card Services about lowering the interest rates on my account all I had to do was press 9. Who wouldn't want lower interest rates? I pushed 9 and got a guy by the name of Chris who said all he needed was a little information from me about my accounts and he would get all of my interest rates lowered. I asked which account and he just said "all of your accounts". I proceded to tell him that it seemed fishy to me and that I didn't think that I was interested. When he asked why I told him because he couldn't tell me what account he was talking about and I wasn't about to give him any of my information. He started yelling at me, told me that I'm a f-ing idiot and hung up on me.... GREAT!!!!! After talking witha friend of mine she also received a call several weeks ago from a number such as this with a hindu guy telling her that there was a warrant for her arrest if she didn't wire them so much money immediately????
The call came in while I was out and was on my caller ID as "out of area." I tried calling the number, but it is a bogus number and i got an error message
I did answer, and push 9, because I wanted to hassle them.
I immediately demanded "How are you connected to VISA!?" because they said "It's about your VISA card" and "Would you like 6 percent interest?" as if I was a moron and REALLY thought I could get that.
I repeated the question over and over, and they got really angry.
I reminded them, "YOU phoned ME!"
They put me on hold, tying my line up forever, and got rid of me, never, not once, admitting who they really were.
Not that I had any doubts, but obviously, crooks.
Oh, I phoned VISA, who said I must watch my account closely for "unauthorized" transactions, but they cannot do anything on their end, since nothing has happened.
They would not even talk civilized enough for me to get to demand they remove me from their list, and yea, I am no Bushe's "do not call" list. What ROT.
Received the same 'Rachel' recording, pressed 9 in order to formally request not to be called and was spoken to very rudely and hung up on when I requested that without once raising my voice.
