I had a call from a 'Jennifer Thomas' in accented English, who asked to be transferred to a high executive in another branch of the company. When I told her his name didn't ring a bell, she asked me if I had access to our company's global directory to give her his direct line. I told her that I was sure if she needed someone of that level, she would have his assistant's number.
Man with accent wanted a specifc employee to update the caller's database. Put him on hold, read this web page, and then transferred him to a line where a recording states: “Sorry, the person you are trying to reach does not have a valid voicemail box on our system.” The company changed its telephone software last year, and this "dead" number comes in handy for people like him. Mr. Nosy returned three more times with the same result.
It's amazing the amount of calls a person can get either at work or your personal cell!! Today's call came in on my office phone and I have NO idea what the man said his name / company was even after I asked him to repeat it...funny thing is he was asking for someone that I thought he just couldn't pronounce my name correctly - hmm, he had no problem pronouncing my work email address!!! Been wondering why I'm getting emails that are getting caught under our Spam Notifications - going to guess this could explain alot at this time! I just delete them and go on. However, I do have a post-it by the phone with the number on it so I can either answer and have some serious fun with these morons or just let it go - will depend on the mood I'm in...ha, ha, ha!!! Have a great day and good luck with these wacky people
5 back-to-back calls.
Never identified himself or his company.
It's getting ridiculous.
"Can I speak to [someone who I have no record of ever being employed here]?"
"I'm sorry, there's no one here with that name."
"Can you check your global directory?"
"There's no one here with that name."
"Is this your only location?"
"Yes. There's no one here with that name."
