I had a call from a 'Jennifer Thomas' in accented English, who asked to be transferred to a high executive in another branch of the company. When I told her his name didn't ring a bell, she asked me if I had access to our company's global directory to give her his direct line. I told her that I was sure if she needed someone of that level, she would have his assistant's number.
Have called my company 2 times this week. Unless I am at lunch they will always get me. Trying to verify email address or talk to our personnel. I do not forward any calls to our staff if they are not a known company we work with or they can supply information on the purpose of the call / or what their company does. The first time they called the caller told me he could not tell me what the call was regarding so I told him I could not put him through! Today he told me it was Business to Business Contact. I told him to take us off his list we don't require his companies services.
I'm based in the UK and had a call very similar to other posters. Wanted my email address to send me details of an upcoming opportunity; when I asked for more details they just repeated the script. Declined their kind offer of the upcoming opportunity :)
