Claims I have been charged with fraudulent bank activity or fraudulent checks, I don't even have a bank account, we use prepaid debit/credit cards for all our transactions or cash. I put our numbers on the do not call list but so far it hasn't worked.
They keep calling you, tell them you know it's a scam and that you'll report them to the police for extortion.
In the first place fraud charges are brought by public prosecutors, not by debt collectors. Debt collectors have no powers of arrest and have no influence on public prosecutors. If you had committed some kind of criminal fraud you'd be aware of it. Being in debt is not a crime and you can't be arrested for ordinary civil debt.

Never, never send money to people you don't know. If they have a valid debt then they are required to send you a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good. Of course they won't do it, because they are scammers. So just tell them to go to hell. Loudly!
These people are just a loose group of criminals who go around the country trying to scare people into paying them something. They call from all sorts of numbers. Nobody's been able to shut them down or find them.
Thanks. You have really put my mind at ease. I am reporting them today with the FBI. I'm just soooo glad I checked up on that phone number. Therefor I will no longer answer their calls. They can go to HELL!!! Thank you for replying to me as you have helped me feel so much at ease now. You know we have to be out there to protect each other from these [***].
This is a scam. The same company called from phone numbers in Texas and Iowa. I reported them to the Attorney General of each state as well as the FTC. They stopped for a while but are now calling from Pennsylvania and Indiana numbers. I reported both those numbers to the FTC as well.
Omg. The phone call came again. Saying there are 2 fraudulent charges against my name and something bout my SS. They are going to summons me to court. Not only does this have me scared but not only having that I'm sitting at the hospitAL right now as I have a family member passing and then the call comes in also saying all this on my voice mail
Relax, its a extortion scam operation! Do report them. And see if one of those call blocking apps like Mr. Number will work for your cell. You can just google call blocking apps, most are free.
