my mother received the same message from "Revenue Canada" and called to answer to a "mr. adam spencer" (his assistants are "ray" and "anna"). he told my mom to send a money order of 7500 dollars through walmart or a western union (which is very sketchy) or she would be arrested. he told her not to tell anyone, and if the bank asks why you need the money to say its a family emergency. it seems that their new number is 1(343) 885 7631(which is the ottawa area code). they are very convincing and will even give you id numbers, rankings, and an office location. we went to the police and there have even been reports of these people threatening to deport immigrants (who dont know any better) if they dont pay right away. i hope this helps.
Caller with a foreign (maybe Indian accent) left message saying he was with the US treasury and I must call back. He said that this was an enforcement action and failure to follow up would be criminal and I would have to appear before the magistrate's court.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
"Dennis Quah" from "Federal Magistrate" looking to collect personal information. Clear scam and not even a government phone number. Says "Criminal charges will be filed for not returning call." Uh - impossible...
Same guy with a definite Asian (possibly Indian) accent called from 818.230.1471 He said his name was Dennis Quaid and left a message saying he was from the US treasury and I should call 415.234.0459 right away and that failure to do so was a criminal offense. The number was constantly busy, but I finally reached him. He told me the police would be alerted upon the end of our call, I would be arrested and imprisoned for 1 year without bail. My assets would be frozen and my property placed on a lien. He said that the offense was from the improper and fraudulent filing of my 2012 taxes. This guy - no words for him!!! Such a conversation could have frightened someone more vulnerable or/and naive and caused unnecessary suffering. I will be making a formal complaint.
Got the same call from 415-234-0459, he has called before from an 818 number. I called the 818 numbers back a few months ago and got an answering machine and told the POS not to call my number again and that i turned over his message to the police dept. haven't heard from him in months until tonight. Stupid people preying on people they hope they can bully into doing what they want. They must be stopped!!!!!
