my mother received the same message from "Revenue Canada" and called to answer to a "mr. adam spencer" (his assistants are "ray" and "anna"). he told my mom to send a money order of 7500 dollars through walmart or a western union (which is very sketchy) or she would be arrested. he told her not to tell anyone, and if the bank asks why you need the money to say its a family emergency. it seems that their new number is 1(343) 885 7631(which is the ottawa area code). they are very convincing and will even give you id numbers, rankings, and an office location. we went to the police and there have even been reports of these people threatening to deport immigrants (who dont know any better) if they dont pay right away. i hope this helps.
Thank god for the internet.... this number 1-415-234-0459 is calling Saskatchewan, get the message out to people do not answer these idiots. As if revenue Canada is going to call your home just to take legal action against you without any notice. Gave the phone to my child, told him it was Santa. Did not take them long to hang up. Going to take the time to call them everyday with his demands so they know what it feels like to bother people.
So I have been getting this call all week. I don't answer so it goes to the answering service. The message is clearly a mechanical voice over. She introduces herself as Officer Nicky Johnson and that it is imperative that I call this number which is her division. Also got the warning that if I don't call I will risk being arrested. LOL.... I can't imagine our government calling someone like that. Any government dealings I have had with Canada Revenue Agency I have dealt with through good old Canada Post or my accountant. Hope these losers get caught. THEY ARE THE CRIMINALS!!!
I got this call today in Fredericton. My brother is a tax accountant (and does my taxes) so I checked with him first -- if it WAS a legit complaint against me, he'd be the one to handle it anyway. Then I googled the number and found this page. Lucky for them, they left me a voice mail... which gets emailed to me as a .wav file. So I'm going to send that right on to the RCMP.
