I have received several calls from this number from a guy who says he is Derrick Brown from the IRS and that my husband must call back and ask for Michael Carter and gives a reference number. Although I am making payments to the IRS, I have the correct name and phone number to the gentleman at IRS who is facilitating me with our IRS claim. THIS IS A SCAM!
As stated before this person claims to be from the IRS. My husband called them back after the first message earlier in the week. When he kept asking for clearer information the guy hung up. Today we had 19 calls between 9:58am to 12:30pm with 4 messages left. We have already reported this number not sure what to do now.
literally getting at least 2 calls a week and keep calling him back to tell him i am not robert XXX (the man he keeps asking for). Man with thick indian accent threatening me with IRS messages.
Had the same message from this number as others have reported from "Sean Connor" with a very, very heavy Indian accent. Had to listen to message 3 times to understand it. The number seems to be from the SF Bay area. Says he is with Tax Litigation office and there is a "tax deficiency". He does not mention IRS, but if it is a tax issue the IRS would contact by mail (and if serious, I assume it would be registered mail). Since it was just a message left on an answering machine, I am totally ignoring it and suggest others do the same because it is a SCAM. Thanks to all the others who have also reported on this number.
