I dion't answer calls from area codes I don't recognize either and reading the above posts, I suspect that it is one of the online pharmacies. I get calls from others as well, beware of 519 and 550 area codes as well. They are relentless and very pushy, as I have answered a few of them.
Called March 17 at 11:30 am. Recorded voice urged me to press 1 to be connected to a representative who could lower my credit card rate to 6.9%. Never mentioned which company they represented but implied that they were my credit card company and had access to my account. Sounded like a scam to get account numbers.
Called my cell number and I picked up because I was expecting a call from the garage door company I just ordered my new garage door from. The guy (with a spanish or indian accent) told me he was from Windows and that I had a virus and I need to turn on my computer if it is not and he'll help me. And I said to him "I don't know what you're talking about. I have a laptop which is a Mac and don't have Windows." And he kept on saying that I needed to do this - I don't think he understood English very well either. So, finally he understood that I didn't have Windows and that my computer was at home so I couldn't turn it on, even if I wanted to. He then asked me several times what operating system I was using and I told him several times what operating system I was using. He asked me my name and age. I then told him I needed to get back to work and I didn't think he was from Windows. He said "can I ask you this? Will you be my friend?" WTF?!?!? I was trying to be nice and everything, and I said "no, because I don't know you." He kept persisting and asked if he could call me at a later time. I FINALLY got off the phone with them. My co-workers laughed their [***] off. DO NOT answer if this number calls you........they're scammers of some sort.
