They called me. Said they were "online solutions". Said my computer had a virus and they were contracted to fix it. Wanted me to go to Computer programs and instrall eventvwr. Said they were contacted by my virus company. Said my computer would crash. The caller was a telemarketer from India. He wanted to know what Windows Operating System I had. Sounded fishy, especially since I HAE A MAC! I strung him on for a while. He told me "You are not an intelligent woman". Oh, that will get me on your side! SCAM CITY!
Called me three times today. Finally answered on the 3rd call to find out who it was and a guy with an accent asked for me by name, which he mispronounced badly. I asked who he was and he said "Eric with online pharmacy". I told him he had the wrong number and to take my phone number off their list and he just hung up on me.
These people call me all the time! It's sooo annoying. One is a woman and one is a man and they always ask for a Marcus or something. I can't even understand them. They are super annoying!
The first thing I ask people is how they got my name and number. They are legally supposedly to tell you that. If at this point they really want my business, the caller will tell me rather than tell me. In this case, like 99% all others I get: they are getting it – incorrectly – from whitepages.com! I have gone to whitepages.com and edited it and also contacted them to correct the error, but I am STILL getting businesses calling me. This is FIVE years since my friend closed his business and THREE years since his death. (He used my cell phone for an extremely small, local, and short [amount of time] business. It was an idea that never got off the ground. But my cell phone number apparently did.)
