I've just reported this to Bank of America. It is a confirmed scam, and they are investigating it. This number "469-201-7025" called me at 7am this morning to say they are "Card Member Services". When I pressed them for a company name, since "Card Member Services" as a generic term, not a company name, they said they are with "FIA". FIA is an actual company, but this number is only using this other company's name ILLEGALLY> IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM. My bank--Bank of America--confirmed that you should never give your info out over the phone. If this was legit, and it really was Bank of America, they would be able to look up your account with the last 4 digits only. And also, they would never be calling you unsolicited in the first place. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR INFORMATION OR YOU WILL BE A VICTIM OF THEFT. PLEASE REPORT THIS NUMBER TO YOUR BANK SO THEY CAN BEGIN THE INVESTIGATION TO SHUT THIS DOWN!!!!!!!
dammit this just reminds me now that wells fargo been trying to call me to try to add special features to my acct which costs money. and i have been declining the offer many many times. makes me wonder if it was legitimate or not!
FIA Card Services is who we've sent our payments to, ever since PNC sold off our credit card account. (Before FIA, MBA was the admin of payments I think.)
And, our BOA card is now also in cahoots with AAA travel. Looking at the fine print on all docs, FIA is a division of BOA now I guess? So they are one in the same, BOA being the mothership?
Not sure there's a reason to panic, but def one to be annoyed as the reps take too long to answer the phone.
Will be watching to have our number removed from the call list.
