Seterus repeatedly called my cell phone even though I am not the person they are looking for. I told them over and over that they have a wrong number but they continued to call. The Seterus call agent refused to put me through to a supervisor. Finally I did the following, which seems to have helped:
1. I called my local police department. The police officer then called the Seterus harassment number (5032704005) and insisted he speak with a supervisor. He notified the supervisor that they had the wrong number, and that I had notified their police department to file a complaint.
2. I registered a formal complaint with the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection using their online debt collector complaint registry. It is easy to access for an online complaint at:

The FTC complaint website applies to those under debt collection and those like me who are being called in error.
I also send my sincere condolences to all in debt who are being harassed by Seterus and other disreputable collection agencies.
Seterus. They specialize in hiring some of the stupidest people they can find then have them call you asking where the money is even before the grace period ends. I answered the phone once, told off the punk and asked for his supervisor. He told me that wasn't possible. They wanted to penalize me for them screwing up my payment post date. Needless to say, they did not get their way. Be careful talking to them. do NOT give them any information as they will use it against you.
Owned two homes, have had a mortgage for 36 years. Late one time by 3 HOURS. For 11 Years made the payments 3 months in advance. Now want to STOP making the payment. They start their calling on the third of every month until you make the payment. They tell you its a courtesy call. [***] they want to know when they are getting their money. They need to stop their harassment,or people may stop making their payment.
Called me on Saturday morning at 8:00AM. Identified as calling from SETERUS and demanded a payment over the phone although my payment was not yet late. Made demand three times before I hung up on him. I have never made a late payment! Said they were being "proactive".
