Definitely Seterus - the worst communicators on the planet apparently. My IBM LBPS loan was transferred to them right after I signed up for a loan modification. Now Seterus keeps calling me asking when do I plan on paying them - umm...I pay every month, a few days early, so why are you calling me?? They must have horrible management or record keeping. Once I told her that I already paid she said "Oh...ok." and hung up. Yet I keep getting calls. SO annoying!!!
After getting a call between 8:05 am and 8:10 am everyday this past week, I finally answered. I normally do not answer unknown numbers. But I wanted to see who the heck was calling me so early daily. The person on the other side actually spoke and said "Are yu Rogelliso ya?" and I asked what did you say? I could not understand clearly as they had a foreign accent. When they tried again, they got even worst at what they were telling or trying to tell me, so I hung up. If they are from Seterus, they are like the other companies that hire foerign countries to do US work, MAYBE. I lost my faith in the banking system and a bank I have been with 12 years, after they sold my account to this scum company without my consent. I know, I guess if you are like me on this site, then WE did not read the fine print that most likely says, the bank has the right to sell off the account without our consent. I wish we could do a class action type suit against one of these major banks, and let them have a taste of their own [***] taste.
The only problem I see, is that your new company may eventually sell off the account right back to this clowns. Ask the new bank if they will put a clause in your contract NOT to sell your account to that specific bank!!! Just a thought.
Interestingly, I have had nothing but good relations with Seterus and its predecessor, LBPS, since my former mortgage company sold my mortgage back to Fannie Mae. Seterus does not own your mortgage--it is merely the administrator of the loan, much like medical billing companies administrate claims for insurance companies. It bills for your mortgage company and is the collector for payments on your loans. I had a much worse experience with my former mortgage company in every way imaginable, but I have never had a rude, obnoxious or otherwise difficult customer service representative on the phone in any of the dealings I've had with Seterus. Representatives have always been consistent, courteous and friendly. I have always been forthcoming with any difficulties I've ever had making payments on time, and Seterus has worked with me every step of the way.
