I got this exact same call today, mine was from Doris Johnson in Richmond VA. she said I had a payday loan from 2008-2011 while I was in the Navy. She knew my address, my bank was navy federal, and that I was in the navy. Really scary and I have never gotten a payday loan in my life. I'm glad to see that this is a scam.
i received a Vm from this number, about a pending law suit and if i or my attorney didnt call back that a case will be filed against me. when i called back from a different number they would not answer my questions concerning the name of their company and the type services they provide. they then tired getting some personal info from me but i would not give it to them. why would i give them my personal info if they wont even tell me what their company name is. im not sure who they are but im tired of these damn unwanted calls
Your description of the caller sounds like a shady debt collector looking for a victim and when you called back, they don't like to give out anything to give themselves away, so they depend on the caller ID as a way to screen who is calling them back. By using a different phone, they didn't recognize the name and evaded giving you any info, but expected you to identify who you are to see if you are to be one of their victims.
"This is Grace Allen with MRP Services you have a pending case in our office that requires your immediate attention. It is imperative that I speak with you or your retained attorney today. My contact number is 515-212-2289. If I do not hear back from you or your attorney, I will document that you have waived your rights to counsel and submit your case; in the event that I do not hear back from you govern yourself accordingly." (31 seconds)
First and foremost, I do not know anyone in Iowa. Secondly, how can you threaten me by telling me "govern myself accordingly". Your message does not name whom you are trying to contact, you state that my "retained" attorney needs to contact you today, how or why would my attorney be calling you when we don't know whether we need to "retain" an attorney for????? Do I need a criminal attorney, a divorce attorney, what kind of attorney am I retaining again???????????
Thankfully my phone recognized that this was a potential scam....I'm sorry to burst your bubble but it APPEARS that you will be needing an attorney for making fraudulent claims so as to extort money for non-existent accounts!!!!!!
